Parental
Submitted by djinn on Sat, 23/02/2008 - 17:19.AI-Con has a number of child-friendly activities, but please do not assume that all events will be suitable. If in doubt, ask a volunteer and remember that all children under fifteen must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Programs screened in the Madman Screening Room have all been rated in Australia and all G and PG titles will be shown in English. The Pocket Space Art Room, Build-a-Mecha and Nyan-Nyan Cosplay Competition have been popular with children in the past, and keep an eye out for face painting in the traders’ hall.

Competition entry: Fruits only, and non-attendee (inc overseas)
Submitted by djinn on Sun, 03/02/2008 - 22:37.If you want to enter fruits but aren’t interested in other aspects of the convention; or if you want to enter the art/comic/AMV/Photography or fanfic competitions but aren’t attending the con, there is a way! For the first time, AI-Con has made arrangements for absentee entry. The cost is $7 for one competition entry, or $10 for two. If you win, your prize will be posted to you.
You are welcome to submit entries for any competition (except Fruits) without paying, but you cannot win a prize. If you reside in a country other than Australia, we encourage you to choose this option.
Thank Kami you're here Contestants needed!
Submitted by Blah on Sun, 27/01/2008 - 17:18.Thank Kami is back for another year and we need contestants that are interested in participating in some anime based skits.
For those not sure what Thank Kami is, it is based off the popular tv show Thank God you're here. Similar to the show we take contestants, put them in costume and throw them into crazy situations where they have to adapt and improvise, difference being our situations are anime based.
