News

Finally an update.

Hello boys and girls.

Yes that’s right, it’s an update. After a month and a half of recovery, we’re well on our way back to another great con!

While the masses are reeling from the sheer awesome that was the 2010 AICon, work is already underway for the AICon 2011! We hope to be able to keep you updated throughout the year leading up to the convention, so check back often.

Now on to the announcements:

  • The theme for 2011 has been decided. Lips are still sealed, but expect an official announcement to be forthcoming, so stay tuned.
  • Raffle tickets are being sold to raise some money for the convention. The prizes being offered are made from pure awesome. A full list will be up soon. If you are interested, you can pick them up at any AICon or ASoc events.
Currently we are aiming to have either one at least once a week.
  • For those not interested in winning awesome stuff (seriously?), you can still help raise money by selling books.
I think you can see a trend when I say more information will be released soon.

Also, the 8th AICon LAN is scheduled for this Saturday. It will run from noon to midnight. Anyone in and around Hobart that might be interested can click the link on the sidebar to the left.

Everyone else can also click on the link and read about what goes on in the LANs.

A big thankyou to everyone!

Thanks for everyone who made this year’s AICon so special. We have tried to put on a good show and youre support shows that it was worth it as we broke the attendance record this year with over 550 people at the convention. The whole weekend was awesome and the entries for our competitions were top notch.

Now we’re up to the time of year where we elect our next committee, if you’d like to be involved please contact Blah on the forums or by email at :

digivisipop@aicon.org.au

All positions are up for grabs except Convener, Financial Officer and Secretary which were voted for at the AGM on the 20th. So if you’d like to apply, send a small application letter for the position to me, it doesn’t matter if you don’t think you have the skills required or don’t know how to do the job, we can teach you, what we need is people that want to help and have the motivation to see AICon grow and improve.

For a full list of positions, check the forums over the next few days as I will have position titles and descriptions up. If the position you want doesn’t exist and you can justify it, we will create it for you.
