What is MAICon?
MAICon, or ‘Miniature AICon’, is a one day mini convention run in Launceston. It is a condensed version of AICon featuring some of our most popular events such as the Cosplay Competition and Thank Kami, as well as some exclusives such as Takeshi’s Castle. Much like AICon events and activities include competitions, a trader’s hall, the ever popular auction, the art room and a miniaturised games room among other things! As always, cosplay is a popular activity (though obviously not required) and for the first time we’ve introduced a theme for MAICon – this year, it’s SUPERHEROES!

What’s on at MAICon?

Do I have to dress in theme?
No, the theme is just a fun little add-on and it is not a requirement for entry in any of our competitions – however, if you’re interested in our theme specific categories in competitions such as cosplay, you must be dressed in theme to enter those categories. Otherwise, it’s free for all!

Will food and drink be available?
Yes, both food and drink will be available at MAICon. More details of exactly what will be available will be released closer to the convention date.

I want to enter Cosplay/Fruits/other competition. How do I do this?
Pre-registration details for MAICon competitions, such as Cosplay and Fruits, and registration of auctions lots can be found on our MAICon Event Registration page!

Who will be in the Trader’s Hall this year?
This year we will have the following businesses trading at MAICon:

Two Lof Bees
Terror Byte
8 Bitty
Pika Cherry
