Terms of Entry

By attending AICon, you agree to be bound by the following rules and conditions:

  • A pass or wristband is provided on entry. Those without a pass, wristband or proof of ticket purchase will be asked to leave the festival.
  • AICon is considered a PG event. Thus, parental guidance is recommended for underage attendees.
  • Patrons under the age of 10 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
  • Only people over the age of 15 years may attend events rated as MA15+ (IDs will be checked).
  • No live steel props or real weapons will be admitted into the venue.
  • The committee reserves the right to confiscate props used in a dangerous, irresponsible or inappropriate manner.
  • Projectile ammunition (including Nerf brand weapons) are not allowed. Please cloak all of them, or the committee will be forced to confiscate your ammunition.
  • Without exception, props or replicas that resemble a firearm must have bright orange or red tape fixed to the muzzle/barrel to signify it is a fake. Failure to do so will result in confiscation only to be returned when the owner leaves the premises. Red tape is available at the info desk for those who forget.
  • Harassment of any form is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal, physical, sexual, racial, or political harassment.
  • Sitting in the theatre aisles is not allowed as it presents a fire hazard. Either find a seat or wait outside the theatre until one becomes available.
  • Those wearing makeup should ensure it doesn’t rub off on seats or others’ clothing.
  • Keep out of ‘No Entry’ areas.
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs are allowed into the festival. Alcohol purchased elsewhere in the venue is not allowed into the festival area. Inebriated attendees will be asked to leave the festival area.
  • Face coverings are not permitted elsewhere in the venue and must be removed outside the festival area.
  • Smoking is forbidden inside any buildings or within 10m of an open door or air intake.
  • No littering. Please be considerate and find a bin.
  • Turn off your phone whilst attending events.
  • No heckling.
  • The committee and venue security reserve the right to eject people from the venue if these rules are violated.
  • The committee reserves the right to ban an individual from future AICon and TasPop events in extreme cases.
  • You have sixty (60) days from the last day of the festival to claim your prize or VIP/Gold Pass items if you did not receive them at the festival. This is extended to ninety (90) days if the prizes have not been supplied in time by our sponsors and we have requested your contact information. TasPop strongly suggests that if you have not received an email from us after thirty (30) days after the event to contact us.
  • By attending AICon, you agree to the possibility of being filmed or photographed. The results of which may be used in future promotional activities related to AICon or the TasPop society.
