The Taspop AGM will be held at LAW 131 UTAS Sandy Bay Campus at 1pm on the 2nd of April. We will be electing a new Executive as well as discussing potential changes within TasPop (The TUU Society that runs AICon).
Positions up for election are:
President/Convenor (needs to have at least a year of experience on the TasPop Committee)
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
TUU Rep
Nominations for these positions will be taken until 12pm 1st of April. All nominations for Executive roles do need to be southern based.

President/Convenor
To oversee the organisation of AICon and MAICon and ensure the progress of TasPop is positive.
Will be required to attend Exec, Exec and Coord and Whole Committee meetings.
(needs to have at least a year of experience on the TasPop Committee)

Vice President
To stand in for the President if they are unable to attend meetings or functions. Will be required to attend Exec, Exec and Coord and Whole Committee meetings.

Secretary
Keeps minutes of all meetings and collects correspondence (both electronically and mail) for the society of TasPop. Will be required to attend Exec, Exec and Coord and Whole Committee meetings.

Treasurer
Keeps clear financial records and drafts budgets. Will be required to attend Exec, Exec and Coord and Whole Committee meetings

TUU Rep
-Must be a UTAS Student
– Is required to go to TUU meetings once a month.
– Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely. Will be required to attend Exec, Exec and Coord and Whole Committee meetings

Design Coordinator
In charge of designing TasPop’s marketing material and program books. Must be comfortable using InDesign and Photoshop. Must be able to work to deadlines.

Events Coordinator
In charge of coordinating event officers to ensure there is a wide variety of events ran at both MAICon and AICon. Must be good at planning, working in groups and willing to be receptive to new (and potentially unusual) suggestions. Must be willing to create a 10 month meeting structure for event officers and provide the executive with clear and concise updates and progress of events. Must be able to supply correct information to the Street Team and IT Coordinator when requested.

Food and Drink Coordinator
You’ll be in charge of working with our suppliers to ensure that there is a supply of food and drink at TasPop Events. Must be able to work to deadlines and work within a budget.

Games Room Coordinator(s)
Games Room Coordinator will be in charge of working with the Venue Coordinator to source equipment for the area, draw up a tournament timetable (including a wide range of relevant games) that compliments the event timetable and willing to run tournaments.
The exec would also be happy to consider a secondary Tournament Coordinator dedicated to running tournaments only.

Guest Coordinator
Is required to work with the Executive to source guests relevant to the convention. Must also be able to manage a team of guest handlers. Must be well organized, able to communicate and able to work within a group.

Human Resources Coordinator
Must be able to mediate any potential disagreements between committee members. Must be impartial. Needs to be independent of Exec & have not held an exec role in the last five years.

Marketing and Membership
Must be able to organize events to engage and expand TasPop’s membership as well continue to promote the convention in Tasmania and Interstate.
Will be in charge of the Street Team (amalgamation of the Advertising, Art, Social Media and Through the Year Events Teams from previous years)

Technical – will be split into two roles
OTD Tech –Tech at venues and events
Needs to have the relevant qualifications.
IT
In charge of website maintenance.
Must be comfortable using WordPress and able to work proactively with the Events Coordinator and Street Team to ensure the website content is relevant.

Ticketing
Will be working with the Treasurer and IT Coordinator to ensure we have a reliable ticketing service for MAICon and AICon.

Venue
Will need to work with both of our convention venues, source equipment and discuss with the committee any potential issues. Must be well organized and committed to the role.

Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer coordinator will be in charge of recruitment volunteers, creating a training program that is relevant and up to date. Must be well organized, approachable and adaptable.

Street Team
This is the amalgamation of:
– Art Team
– Social Media Team
– Through the Year Events Team
– Advertising Team
Members of The Street Team need to meet the requests of the Marketing and Membership Coordinator, expected to meet deadlines, able to make advertising material that will engage with our audience, help run events, help put up posters, etc
There will be goals each individual member of the street team will have to meet.
